So, how are the humans faring in R.E.P.O.?

for those playing the beta updates, the museum of human art has been a wealth of information on the state of humanity, which i'm very glad for.

"Humanity almost perished. Lol!"

Yeah, they're not doing all that well.

In the interest of human survival, though, a group just calling themselves... "Human Group" has emerged.

"Human? Find us."

"It's not over for us."

They're heavily implied to function in groups and hunt semibots, and they as well as humanity in general live in survivalistic ways.

"Survive without possession" "I want stuff!" "Someone took the red pen!" "Who wrote this?" "Ye! Not ok!"

"I am sick of fresh corn!" "I do not care." "Ey! Sit down dude!"

"Take John the bots." "We will."

While this one doesn't specify anything being written by Human Group, the implications I'm picking up on here is that much of humanity, or at least what's left, has been driven into poverty and even homelessness by the Taxman and repossession.

There are likely other factors, but starvation and exposure may be a large factor into how few humans are left. Those who remain are fighting like hell to take back their world.

I think it's possible that the huntsman may have been associated with this group. Behind the scenes, we don't know whether he still operates with them (if ever) or if he's a lone agent.

I've seen a few people mention the idea that monsters and humans might coexist peacefully, or somewhat peacefully, so here's some interesting graffiti to consider; either the Human Group (if they wrote this) is also anti-monster, or some of the monsters are equally hostile to humans.

I'm so curious about the Repo lore. The graffiti on the new museum level is pretty interesting - and worrisome.

The taxman is clearly not a well-loved figure either, I remember seeing graffiti about him too. And there's that pic of the headman spewing out money. (The headman... the headmaster? There's some graffiti in the wizard school about saying something like "it's the headmaster" isn't there)

And then there's graffiti that mentions the Human Group. I'm sure there's one that says "join the human group, stop taxman" or something such. (What if... the hunter... is part of the human group?)

Are we (our cute lil robots) the bad guys here?

ETA: oh, and this! I just realized, there's got to be humans around, also fighting these monsters. This list... first I thought some other robots have written it, but why would that be? Why would we go to a place another team has already cleared? And what would our robots care about corn?

It's not like we could even go to the parking lot to get any. This list must also be written by humans, for humans.

Also (I feel slow now) Tom? Would one of the robots be called Tom? XD

I've been playing so much R.E.P.O with friends lately and thought hey what if the Taxman is (or was) once human. Imagine having valuables at the end of the world and some faceless entity who only speaks in emojis sends a group of funny little muppet robots to rob you fucking blind.

Unapproachable, detached, apathetic and selfish. He uses the semibots to secure a place at the top in the event of the world collapsing. The target on his back is the size of a helipad.

His name is Pickle (or Stickers as his second name from the, well, stickers on his body that he peeled off of cars).

The reason for having two names will be explained later, and trust me, it's stupid.

I have seen a lot of largocest posts in the repo community. Like way more incest than any other fandom I’ve seen, some people are grossed out by it, and some are not, but i think something just clicked in my brain, so i want to say:

you can put incest in fiction, without outwardly having any of the characters condemn it, while still personally condemning incest. I have a pair of ocs for hazbin hotel (yes hazbin posting with repo again how kewl of me) that are twins and got sent to hell for among other things concerning cult activity having an incestous relationship. None of the other characters condemn it. Why? Because it’s hell. That’s the world they live in. If it were in the show it would be occasionally played for laughs in a dark humor kinda way, but i wouldn’t think anyone would go off at them for it, or maybe even acknowledge it’s wrong. This works with repo aswell because the world they live in? Fucked. Morality? Practically obsolete. Ethics? Never heard of her. So, practically, just like hell. The largo siblings were never meant to be good people. Actually they were always supposed to be horrible people. Like to a point you wonder if they’re even actually still people. You’re allowed to like them, they are BAD people and no matter how you cut it you can’t magically make them good and it’s supposed to be very difficult to humanize them. And looking purely at the source…I’m sorry but largocest makes sense. I don’t like it, i have my own ocs i ship with them but you can’t exactly say it’s ridiculous or out of place. The actual essence of repo I’ve learned over the time i interact with it is actually that we are all animals with hair and sweat and blood and we vomit and shit and piss and we keep trying to distance ourselves from it because we think of ourselves as better than our biology, we WANT to prove that we have something that differences us from animals, but deep down we are just as disgusting and horrible and all, to some extent, bad. Trying to apply fandom-typical moral puritany to repo does nothing except completely making the message pointless. If you want characters who are completely morally in the right, I’m sorry but…you might want to watch a different movie…

currently, i dont have any plans for them. to be honest i dont know a lot about either venus or jennika??? so im kinda worried if i do add them i would butcher their characters. like my knowledge is limited to like 3 things. i know that venus was going to be revealed as big mamas assistant in the scrapped plans for season 3 of rise, i think jennika is a lesbian? or bi? in the IDW comics, and one of them was transformed from human to turtle (i wanna say jennika but dont quote me)

altho im open to suggestions if yall have any for what i should do with their characters! :) it would be like QUITE a bit until they are introduced in the main storyline but im open to ideas
